Deliverence – London

We were asked to manufacture a bespoke work station for a take away company in London. Incorporating under counter refrigeration, built in heating stations and garnish refrigeration topping storage, this counter was designed to offer the operator complete convenience in preparing the customers take away meal.

Medical Centre

This project gave us the opportunity to design and manufacture a number of island counters. Utilising supplied drop in display units, we manufactured stainless steel carcass island counters and finished with a black granite worktop with domed button tray slide detail, at the customers request.

Counters included heated buffet counters, till points, refrigerated salad well island counters, and ambient cake counters.

Torc Campus – South Staffordshire College

MCF were able to provide South Staffordshire College with a fully bespoke training facility for their students looking for a career in the catering industry. The project included a suited centre island, prep centre island, fully lined perimeter prep tables and student benches.

Eli Lilly

This project was a particularly high specification project that MCF were delighted to have tendered for and ultimately won the manufacture and supply of stainless steel kitchen fabrication.
Bespoke items such as dishwasher tabling, back counter, prep benches, and an 11m fully lined fully welded counter suite incorporating options such as fully welded drop downs, weld in bowls, sound deadening and 2mm thick stainless steel worktops.

Swansea University

Our client turned to us to assist with the design of a new coffee shop at Swansea University. The brief was to keep the design simple yet fully functional. Simple but effective material choices of black granite worktops and treated Oak fascia panels gave the classic coffee shop feel, with the main focus on ensuring the layout and operational elements were on point.

Feedback from the client was excellent, and the University are extremely happy with the end result.

Peterborough Arena

At certain venues, the food offering needs to be mobile. Sometimes this restricts the menu, however at Peterborough Arena this is not the case following the arrival of their new mobile food display carts.

The range of carts feature heated ceran plates, chilled salad wells, refrigerated multideck display units, coffee stations and till points. All units are customisable with magnetic fascias for catering branding surrounded by LED lighting, and magnetic menu board hangers on the overhead gantries.

Seel St. Hotel, By EPIC – Liverpool

MCF are delighted to have been able to work on this project with our client in our local city. The new Seal St. Hotel by EPIC, is set to be one of Liverpools best hotels due to its design and location.

We were able to provide a full bar fit out and reception counter for the hotel, using a wide range of finishing materials including stainless steel worktops and construction, Greenwich Gris Quartz stone worktops and white tile fascia to the bar, and the reception counter was fully clad in Ash finish TriStone.

The Folly – Whitby

MCF were asked to assist in a small domestic kitchen in a property in Whitby, and were happy to assist. Access was the main challenge in a very small kitchen located down a very tight alleyway, and the close proximity to seawater meant the material choice altered slightly from the standard 304 grade stainless steel. Marine grade 316 stainless steel was used instead to avoid rust in the future.

The client was extremely happy with the results, and the kitchen went on to feature in local and national magazines.

Doubletree by Hilton

Merseyside Catering Fabrications were tasked with assisting our client remove a dated cook suite and install brand new equipment to the kitchen at Doubletree by Hilton in Leeds.

The key issue was time. The client required a turnaround of only a few days to complete all works. Project management between all parties was therefore essential, and we are pleased to say everything went without a glitch and the end client was extremely happy with the equipment and service they received.

Staff Restaurant – Cheshire

We were pleased to be involved with this high end staff restaurant development in Cheshire.

MCF were asked to provide all back of house bespoke fabrications as well as the front of house servery counters, multideck housings and condiment counters. Using all of our own drop in display units, the counters were finished with a Hanex worktop and wood grain laminated fascia panels.

The Clink Cafe – Manchester

Following on from the success of The Clink Restaurant at HMP Styal, The Clink Charity chose Merseyside Catering Fabrications to provide their kitchen fabrication and front of house coffee shop counters for their new store 'The Clink Cafe' located in the centre of Manchester.

The Clink Cafe can be found in Canada House on Chepstow Street. In order to be in keeping with its history, MCF were asked to incorporate reclaimed wood from the building and use on the fascia of the counter along with a tile found throughout.

MCF have worked on the ever expanding Nando's portfolio nationally for years. We have designed and manufactured bespoke cookline suites, front of house co-ordinator counters and bespoke heated gantries, and back of house preparation and dishwash tabling.

Works on these sites does not stop there however. With the constant turnover of food and the high capacity output the Nando's create, the kitchen is constantly being monitored and refrubishments ugh a part of our business as the new schemes. The kitchens are often upgraded and altered to suit the high customer demand, and our engineers are often on site making the necessary additions to the custom equipment to keep the client at the top of their game.

Accrington & Rossendale College

MCF were proud to be invited to tender for the bespoke fabrication within the new training kitchen developments at Accrington and Rossendale Colleges new Heartwood Centre. Having been successful with the bid, we set about manufacturing equipment for both training kitchens, a production kitchen, and the bakery kitchen.

Training kitchen 1 included bespoke centre islands with built in induction units and granite prep areas. Under counter structure allowed storage and refrigeration, whilst stands to the worktops displayed salamander grills and combi-ovens.

The National Army Museum – London

On 16th March 2017, Her Majasty The Queen re-opened The National Army Museum in Chelsea, London, following its £23.75 million redevelopment. In 1960 the museum was originally opened by a Royal Charter and retrains its Royal connections with the Duke of Kent acting as patron.

MCF were thrilled to win the tender to supply the bespoke kitchen equipment and front of house custom servery counters with our distributor partner Gratte Brothers. The materials specified were a Corian worktop set into an 80x80mm thick staved solid oak surround. This provided us with the chance to show off not only our fabrication expertise but our shopfitting capabilities also.

Complete with bespoke drop in display units both heated and chilled, and a fully tiled fascia, the problem facing us was the expansion and contraction of the natural material once on site. Using the correct expansion gaps and bonding materials has made for a truly stunning counter in an exceptional environment. Photos do not do this project justice unfortunately.

Grafene – Manchester

Grafene is a unique British restaurant in the heart of Manchester, located at 55 King Street. Well known for its designer shops, this area of Manchester is seeing a huge increase in top end eateries.

In partnership with HK Projects, Merseyside Catering Fabrications were priviledged to supply the fully bespoke kitchen fabrication and theatre pastry area in this fantastic restaurant.

The kitchen fabrications included a stunning bespoke chefs hot pass spanning nearly 7 metres and incorporating a twin tier heated gantry with hidden tab grabbers, built in hotcupboard and gastronorm drawers, voids for under counter refrigerated storage and housing a rise and fall grill.

Other fabrications within the kitchen included dishwash tabling, centre islands, storage areas and even a bespoke cultivation bench. All centre items also incorporated a custom profile to match that of the focal cooking equipment in the middle of the kitchen. An aesthetically pleasing kitchen.

The theatre pastry area to the front of house does not disappoint either. With a stone worktop and stainless steel prep area, this section allows visitors to see their food being crafted and offers an unraveled ambiance.

Second Cup Coffee

MCF were asked to design, manufacture and install a bespoke coffee shop counter scheme for Canadian chain Second Cup Coffee.

The Leamington Spa site (shown) is the 3rd site in the UK that MCF have provided counters for following installations at Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield and the Lion Yard Shopping Centre at Cambridge. The design included front and back counters, back wall cupboards and island condiment counters.

The fascia of the counter boasts painted solid Oak with a distressed finish, Nero Assoluto granite to the front counter and a fully 304 grade satin polished stainless steel rear counter with weld in sink bowls within local anti drip moulding.

The Fish Hotel

For this theatre kitchen project at The Fish Hotel in Broadway, Merseyside Catering Fabrications were asked to provide a full solution to the extension of the kitchen. This incorporated not only the bespoke fabrication to house the cooking equipment supplied by our distributor partner, but also the glass and wooden enclosure of the theatre kitchen protruding into the dining space.

This was a wonderful project to be involved with, as we were able to ensure all elements were correct for installation on site. The kitchen included a bespoke cook suite to take counter top equipment - therefore easily changed as and when the hotels menu and capacity evolves - as well as a tailored triple tier gantry with heated quartz lights and ambient cool white LED lighting.

The fascia to the customer side was finished with a painted wood with tongue and groove detail. Inspection into the kitchen is 270 degrees thanks to the window system to all sides.

Eden House – Alderley Edge

Eden House was a fantastic project to be involved with. Demonstrating MCF's ability to dip into the domestic market when the opportunity presents itself, our client Caterbox Group came to us with a very specific request.

Their client in the affluent area of Alderley Edge required an island kitchen worktop making out of a single sheet of thick stainless steel, with rounded 5mm thick downturns to all sides with the polished effect running linear to all sections. A laborious task, however our skilled engineers were happy to oblige. Champagne ice wells to the centre of the island give this worktop a real wow factor. Measuring almost 2.5 metres square, we are sure this island has proved host to some fantastic parties since its installation in 2015.

WWT Llanelli

Another "Kingfisher Kitchen" fit out completed by Merseyside Catering Fabrications. This site in Llanelli was a refurbishment of an existing cafe area. A new back counter dividing the prep kitchen and servery area was designed and installed, and a new servery counter an refrigerated display case manufactured and installed in the front of house area serving WWT Llanelli's estimated 50,000 visitors per year.

Zapatista, Newcastle

Zapatista is Newcastle's first dedicated Mexican inspired Burrito Bar. Located in the busy shopping and student district just set off Northumberland Street their three story homage to mexican culture and food stands proud.

We were asked to provide a bespoke servery counter and stainless steel back counter for food prep. The servery counter incorporates an in-built chilled display well and wet well bain-marie display.

CATS Cambridge

Merseyside Catering Fabrications were tasked with designing, manufacturing and installing all components of the refurbishment at CATS College Cambridge campus. The job included bespoke hot and cold food service options with an ambient counter to compliment; a beverage dispense counter and a coffee shop pod.

The servery counters had LED illuminated tray slides with ceiling mounted overhead gantry and curved glass sneeze screen to the drop in chilled well and dry heat bain-marie.

The coffee pod uses MCF chilled and heated patisserie display cases with square glass and hydraulic pistons for lift up glass to the front for easy loading and cleaning.

All counters had a Corian worktop.

DHL

The customised counters at DHL's Runcorn distribution centre featured a bold colour scheme, with bright yellow fascia panels and a contrasting and durable stainless steel worktop. The fascia panels were set at an angle offering a unique counter shape, whilst the stainless steel worktop offered a stepped down trayslide for the DHL staff with punched raised dimples to prevent scratching to the main worktop.

This scheme again featured MCF bespoke drop in display units offering both heated and chilled display. To compliment the counters we also provided matching condiment counters and recycle stations.

Our counters can also be found at the DHL distribution centre in Hounslow.

Hymers College

Hymers College opened in 1893 as a school for boys on the site of the old Botanic Gardens of Hull. The Reverend John Hymers, Fellow of St John’s College, Cambridge and Rector of Brandesburton, a village 10 miles north of the city of Hull, left money in his will for a school to be built “for the training of intelligence in whatever social rank of life it may be found among the vast and varied population of the town and port of Hull”.

Over a century on and Hymers College is a co-educational independent day school for pupils aged 8 to 18.

In the new sixth form dining facility, MCF provided a simple yet effective servery counter featuring a white Corian worktop, wood effect laminated fascia panelling and a stainless steel kick plinth. Dropped onto the worktop were our own chilled and heated display units. The back prep are featured a fully stainless steel preparation counter with fully lined storage cabinets, voids for under counter equipment and weld in sink bowls within localised anti-drip moulding.

Coffee Cosmo

Coffee Cosmo is an independent coffee shop based in Blaby, Leicestershire. The first store of what they hope will be many, our distributor partner invited us into the discussions at the very start of their journey. This helped us develop a strong relationship with the end user, in turn providing the foundation to offer our experience and opinions with regard to design layout, materials and colour schemes.

The client had a very good idea of what they wanted from the very beginning, and had produced a full design brief before acquiring their site. Upon receiving the keys, we met on site to discuss designs and take the required dimensions and full site survey to ensure all of our electrical and waste connections worked well.

An ambitious menu which I am pleased to say works, offered challenges when fitting all equipment onto their 6 metre stainless steel back wall preparation area. Welded sinks, storage space, refrigeration, prep space, counter top appliances such as blunders, waffle machines, toasters, water boilers and coffee machines were all a consideration. All were fully incorporated to make what is one of the busiest and most consistent indipendant coffee shops we have either worked on or visited.
